Several patrols of the area have been carried out.
Gardaí have launched an investigation into online threats made towards an educational institution in Loughrea, Galway.
The threats in question were made on Thursday evening (17 October) at approximately 7.30pm.
It has been reported that the threats were directed via social media, alerting Gardaí to a potential shooting incident at St. Raphael's College in Loughrea.
A Garda spokesperson has confirmed to JOE that several patrols of the vicinity were conducted on Friday.
"Nothing suspicious detected," notes an official statement.
Investigations are ongoing.
