The Gardaí have released a statement today stating that they are not seeking anyone else in relation to the death of Tom and Kitty Fitzgerald.

Earlier this week, Tom and Kitty were found dead at their home in Mayo. Their son, Paul, was also found in a critical condition at the house. After completing the autopsies it has indicated that they died in a murder-suicide.

Paul, who is now said to be in a stable condition in hospital, has been ruled out as a suspect of the tragic incident. According to The Mirror, Tom is believed to have murdered his wife Kitty before taking his own life.

A Garda spokesperson released the following statement today:

“The Deputy State Pathologist Dr. Michael Curtis completed the post-mortem examinations on the bodies of Tom Fitzgerald and Kitty Fitzgerald on Thursday the 3rd of November.

“The results of the post-mortem examinations have been passed to the investigation team and are not being released to the public for operational reasons.

“Arising from the post mortem examinations Gardai are not seeking any other person in relation to this crime.”
