A fundraiser has been set up to help Bruna Fonseca’s family bring her body home.

Her family is seeking the public’s help with the cost to repatriate her body to her native Brazil.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help her family during this unthinkable time.

They hope to raise €30,000 to help with the repatriation and her funeral.

According to The Irish Examiner, some of Bruna’s relatives are living in Cork. They are currently liasing with both the Gardaí and the authorities on when her body will be released. They’re also in touch with her relatives in Brazil who are planning her funeral.

Her heartbroken family has called on the public and those who knew Bruna to help support them during this distressing time.

They have asked people to donate to their fundraiser so Bruna’s body can be taken home to Formiga.

28-year-old Bruna was brutally murdered in Cork on January 1st.

The beloved librarian was found dead at an apartment in Cork city. 29-year-old Miller Pacheco has been charged with her murder.

Following her untimely death, Bruna’s family issued a statement.

They told The Irish Examiner: “She was the favourite cousin of all cousins.

“She was also the niece most loved by uncles and aunts and she was the daughter who was her mother’s best friend.

“Bruna had a way about her and she was adored for it.

“She was always very helpful to others and she has always been admired for her humility and her sweet way of being.”

Bruna moved to Cork last September to “start a new life”. She always dreamed of living in another country, her family shared.
