Met Éireann’s future outlook is looking hopeful.

After an undisputedly mixed week in terms of weather, it seems sunnier days are on the way soon.

For now, however, this mixed weather will continue this weekend with some showers and sunny spells expected on both Saturday and Sunday, before it picks up next week.

Met Éireann’s forecast for the start of the weekend reads: “Tomorrow will see a mix of cloud and sunny spells. While it will be mostly dry, isolated showers are possible through the afternoon and evening, mostly in the east.”

The mercury may reach 14 to 18 degrees in “light to moderate northeasterly breezes”, but it will be “fresher on southeastern coasts”.

Sunday will be “largely dry with cloud building up during the morning mixed with some sunshine”, although some “well scattered showers” are likely to develop.

Highest temperatures on Sunday will be between 16 and 20 degrees, though the southern parts of the country may see highs of 21 degrees.

Met Éireann’s forecast for next week. however, is looking a lot better.

Monday will see “good sunny spells and mostly dry weather with just some isolated showers developing”, though those showers may move southeast throughout the day. Temperatures may reach 18 to 23 degrees in some parts of the country.

Tuesday is set to be even nicer, with highs of 20 to 24 degrees, but it’s likely to be cooler in the north and northeast.

Beyond that, Met Éireann’s further outlook hints that the good weather may continue.

The forecaster says that the weather will be “Mainly settled with a good deal of dry weather and just some showers at times.”

We may also expect the weather to feel “rather pleasant, with sunny spells, light winds and temperatures in the mid-twenties.”
