Miriam Margolyes has been accused of racism following remarks she made recently.
The Blackadder actress was at the London film convention where it’s reported that the 75-year-old left one fan humiliated after her remarks.
According to The Irish Mirror, the actress was signing photographs for paying fans when she allegedly said “Jews and blacks, they get a discount.”
The actress was also reportedly heard telling one black fan “I’m giving you a discount because you’re black”.
A spokesperson for Miriam has denied that the actress intended any offence, however one fan present at the signing of photographs said
“… She made that quip about Jews and blacks and everyone was just staring at the ground and looking embarrassed.
“I recognised the man she targeted from other events and he looked humiliated.”
