It’s official!

Harry Potter the TV series has finally been confirmed and we, like many other Happy Potter fanatics, are so excited.

The TV series is based upon the bestselling Harry Potter novels written by JK Rowling and it will be produced by Warner Bros Television.

Earlier this month, HBO Max teased the highly anticipated series and said the hardest task was getting author Rowling onboard the project.

Streaming platform HBO Max, posted a Tweet and confirmed the news yesterday.

They wrote: “Your Hogwarts letter is here.

“Max has ordered the first ever #HarryPotter scripted television series, a faithful adaptation of the iconic books. #StreamOnMax.”

Warner Bros Discovery shared the latest update about the programme yesterday.

Chairman and CEO of HBO and Max Content, Casey Bloys said: “We are delighted to give audiences the opportunity to discover Hogwarts in a whole new way.”

JK Rowling, who will be an executive producer, spoke about the announcement too.

She said: “Max’s commitment to preserving the integrity of my books is important to me, and I’m looking forward to being part of this new adaptation which will allow for a degree of depth and detail only afforded by a long form television series.”

According to Variety, the new Harry Potter TV series will span for over a decade with each season being based off each of the seven books and will have an entirely new cast.
