Here’s where the Irish €500k-winning Euromillions ticket was sold

The hunt for the winner is on.

Any of your friends or neighbours looking a little smug this morning?

They might have woken up a lot better off today, as someone in Ireland scooped €500,000 in last night’s Euromillions draw.

While the big winner of the €190 million jackpot was in Spain, we’re delighted (and obviously very jealous) that an Irish person has won a life-changing sum –  you wouldn’t turn your nose up at half a million euro!

The National Lottery has confirmed that the winning Irish ticket was bought at Barry’s Mace store in Blackwater, Ardnacrusha in County Clare.

Ironically, the shop’s owner Lance O’Neill is currently in Barcelona in Spain on a family holiday.

Having run the business for 13 years, he hopes the big win went to someone from the area.

“It’s a small village and it would be lovely if it was somebody local who has won,” he said.

“But it could also have been anybody driving through going to East Clare.

“I look forward to celebrating with staff and locals when I get home next week.”

It might pay for anyone passing through Ardnacrusha to go for a Quick Pick in Barry’s Mace, as the store seems to be a lucky spot – it also sold a €250,000-winnning Lotto ticket nine years ago.
