Pixie Lott’s model fiancé Olive Cheshire is being hailed as a hero – after tackling the taxi driver who ploughed into pedestrians in London on Saturday.

The 29-year-old model sprung into action when the driver hit his Jaguar in the Kensington area of the city, pinning the man to the ground until police arrived.

Photos show Mr Cheshire restraining the individual as police promptly arrived on the scene.

The driver had injured 11 people after mounting a pavement and mowing down pedestrians outside London’s Natural History Museum.

The incident is not thought to be terrorist-related, although the M&S model is being described as a “hero” by witnesses for his quick thinking and cool demeanour.

Speaking to MailOnline, Oliver – who has been engaged to Pixie for a year – said that the cab driver had three female passengers in his car at the time of the crash.

He said: “He was driving down the pavement and hit 11 to 12 people. Then the guy was screaming. He looked at me and I was really in shock. I got out of my car and grabbed him, three of us grabbed him, and someone phoned the police.”

The incident happened on Exhibition Road in South Kensington at 14.2o on Saturday afternoon. The taxi driver has been detained by police. An update from the force stated the incident is now being treated as “a road traffic collision”.

London Ambulance have confirmed that nine people were taken to hospital, mostly suffering from leg and head injuries.
