Add us as a preferred source on Google »The entire Republic of Ireland has been hit with Status Yellow high temperature warnings for this weekend.
Two alerts have been issued by Met Éireann. The first is set to take effect from midday on Friday, July 11th, until 6 am on Saturday.
It applies to 14 counties. These are Carlow, Cavan, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Monaghan, Offaly, Roscommon, Tipperary, and Westmeath.
The second Status Yellow high temperature warning, meanwhile, is expanded to cover the entirety of the Republic of Ireland.
This is scheduled to last from midday on Saturday to 6 am on Sunday.
Both alerts read: "Maximum temperatures in excess of 27°C combined with night-time minima in excess of 15°C expected."
"Potential Impacts: Water safety issues due to increased use of lakes/beaches, forest fires are a possibility, uncomfortable sleeping conditions, and heat stress."
In its national forecast, meanwhile, Met Éireann says that the highest temperatures on Thursday, July 10th, will range from 22 to 27 degrees generally.
This is as temperatures could reach as high as 29 degrees on Saturday.
