Anyone who’s ever seen ‘Family Guy’ would already know to expect some controversial moments happening on the Oscar stage, but it’s likely that no one was expecting this.
First-time Academy Awards host Seth MacFarlane opened the ceremony with this song, listing all the films where most of Hollywood’s leading ladies had bared their breasts.
Meryl Streep, Halle Berry, Naomi Watts and Kate Winslet were all targets for jibes in the song, while overall ‘Winner of the Oscars’ Jennifer Lawrence took her mention (for keeping her clothes on, incidentally) with pride.
Where some viewers took to social media to say they found the typical MacFarlane humour hilarious, there were a considerable number of complaints too – not least because many of the movie scenes referenced were in fact rape scenes.
MacFarlane has yet to respond to the criticism.
