30-year-old homeless woman living in a tent found dead in Cork
A homeless woman has been found dead in Cork City.
The 30-year-old was found in a tent she was living in at Gillabbey Park near UCC at about 2am on Friday.
She was named locally as Jenny Dennehy, originally from Mahon.
According to The Irish Times, Gardaí have ruled out foul play. They are going to prepare a file on her death for an inquest at the coroner’s court.
Jenny was living with a 36-year-old man in the tent, and when he failed to wake her, he went to a nearby house to raise the alarm.
She was then removed from the tent and brought by ambulance to Cork University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
It has been reported that she had been living in a flat in the Cork City up until recently.
