The countdown is on.

With Kate Middleton expected to give birth over the coming weeks, excitement is already growing in the build-up to the arrival of her third child.

However, it’s now kicked up a gear as the road outside the Lindo Wing, where Kate will give birth, has been closed to the public.

Barriers were put in place this morning outside the wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington and a series of parking restrictions have been put in place.

However, while this might prompt many to believe we’re only days away, it could still be another couple of weeks before Kate gives birth.

The suspended parking notices will run from today until April 30, so it’s just a waiting game from here.

Royal correspondents from around the globe have been sharing pictures of the early movement at the Lindo Wing, but are reminding onlookers that we could still have a way to go before we meet the new Prince or Princess.

Many staffers at St Mary’s are also bracing themselves for the increased media presence that will only grow over the coming weeks.

It will be all eyes on the Lindo Wing for the next few weeks then.
