A hugely popular Dublin city cafe has announced their shock closure.
Meltdown first opened as a pop-up in 2018 and has been serving up some serious sambos ever since.
However, the owner, Maeve, took to Instagram to break the news that the cafe will be closing their Montague street cafe.
"It's been a difficult year trying to manage constant cost increases, running a business and a family, so as a result we've had to make the difficult decision to close Meltdown at Montague street," she wrote.
"I want to say a huge thank you to the wonderful team who have always showed up with a great attitude and work ethic. To the fabulous suppliers who never let us down and of course to the wonderful customers who enjoyed what we did," added Maeve.
On a positive note, she confirmed that Meltdown Catering would be continuing business as usual, as well as their Deliveroo orders.
She further hinted at future pop-ups too.
Many customers and fellow Dublin businesses shared their disappointment at the city's most recent closure.
Chimac commented: "Sending so much love - you guys are the best."
"We will miss our neighbours terribly! It was so nice to have you here on the street," said Green Bench Cafe.
Customers have also shared their devastation with one saying: "Screaming crying throwing up. Where will we get our sausage rolls now."
"Wow. Sorry to hear this. I was only in there last week buying your delicious cookies," added another.
The closure marks another hit to the Dublin food scene, with several restaurants having closed their doors this year due to rising costs.
