Irish-Egyptian man Ibrahim Halawa’s trial has been postponed again until January 2016.

Recently the European Parliament passed a resolution calling for the Dublin 20-year-old’s release with speeches made by Irish MEPs Nessa Childers, Lynn Boylan, and Brian Hayes.

The Dubliner is being tried alongside more than 490 other people.

RTÉ reports that his mother and one of his sisters are in Egypt but were not permitted to enter the courtroom.

Executive Director of Amnesty International Ireland Colm O’Gorman called for his immediate and unconditional release, and Minister for Foreign Affairs Charlie Flanagan expressed his disappointment at the further adjournment of the trial.

Halawa has been in prison for more than 28 months, with his trial date consistently changing in this time.

Many people are objecting to the terms of the trial, which sees Halawa being tried en masse with 493 other individuals.
