Love Island’s Iain Stirling recalled Caroline Flack’s “passion, warmth and infectious enthusiasm” as the series paid tribute to her on Monday night.

The presenter passed away on Saturday, her family confirmed in a statement. She was 40 years old.

Following her death, Love Island did not air on Saturday or Sunday night. The series returned to TV screens last night, with a tribute to her airing before the episode began.

It showed footage of the sea, with the sound of waves playing, as Iain paid tribute to Caroline on behalf of the Love Island team.

“We are all absolutely devastated by the tragic news that Caroline, a much loved member of our Love Island family, has passed away. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this dreadful time,” he said.

“Caroline and me were together from the very start of Love Island and her passion, warmth and infectious enthusiasm were a crucial part of what made this show connect with millions of viewers.”
