Maura Higgins is lined up for the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars in the US, and the amount she will get paid is eye-watering.
While her participation on the show will no doubt open up even more doors for the Irish reality star, Maura will also receive a rather generous salary for taking part.
According to several outlets (including a 2019 report from Variety), the celebrity contestants reportedly make a starting salary of $125,000 on the popular dance show.
This sum covers several weeks they have to spend training for the show, including at least 20 hours per week.
According to some unconfirmed reports, celebrities also receive bonus payments the longer they stay on the show.
Celebrities who make it to weeks three and four, for example, receive a bonus of $10,000 per week. If they reach week five, they reportedly get $15,000, and if they make it to weeks six and seven, the additional bonus is $20,000 per week.
Should the star continue onto weeks 8 and 9, they receive a whopping $30,000 bonus per week.
If they make it all the way through to the semi-finals and the finale, there is an additional $50,000 prize money each week.
The winner of Dancing With The Stars will get to take home the Mirror Ball trophy, which costs about $10,000 to make.
Now, if these alleged figures are correct, the stars who make it to the finale have the potential to walk away with $360,000.
When it comes to the professional partners, they earn significantly less than the celebrities they’re paired with.
According to reports, a starting salary for a pro is $1,600 per episode.
However, the pros who have been regulars on the show for several seasons can reportedly negotiate their fee, which can go up to as much as $5,200 per episode.
The alleged cap for a professional dancer is believed to be $100,000 per season.
Maura Higgins was confirmed as a contestant for season 35 of the ABC show last week.
The news follows Lisa Rinna describing Dancing With The Stars as “life-changing” for Maura.
Lisa, who formed a close friendship with Maura while filming The Traitors US last year, has since backed the star.
“I am so excited, because that was a life-changing experience for me,” Lisa told E! News, referencing her time on Dancing With The Stars in 2006.
“It’s going to be life-changing for her. I was genuinely thrilled because I adore her.
“I love her so much, and I just think it’s so fun to watch these kids having their moment.”
