Gardaí have launched an investigation after a man's body was discovered near a main road in Galway.
The grim discovery was made in Clifden this morning by members of the public and it is not yet known how the man died.
The scene was preserved for several hours to facilitate a forensic investigation and a post mortem will take place later today at University Hospital Galway.
It's believed that the man may be from the local Clifden area.
