Investigations continue into the death of a baby in Tipperary

Gardaí are continuing to investigate the death of a seven-month-old baby in Tipperary yesterday.

The little girl was found unresponsive in a car in Dundrum, County Tipperary at around 1.45pm yesterday.

She was taken by ambulance to the local GAA pitch before being airlifted to University Hospital Limerick where she died yesterday afternoon.

She’s believed to have been in the car since around 8am that morning.

Gardaí have described her death as a tragic incident.

The baby been named locally as Chloe Fogarty, the only daughter of Paul and Louise Fogarty from Kilfeacle, according to RTÉ News.

A post modem is due to be carried out on her body today.

One line of investigation that Gardaí are pursuing is that the infant died of heatstroke.
