An Irish man has died in Thailand following a road crash

Very sad news.

An Irish man has died in Thailand following a crash.

The 39-year-old, who was originally from Longford, was travelling through the province of Chiang Rai when he was involved in a crash.

According to RTÉ, he was living in Thailand for a number of years and worked as an English teacher.

The Department of Foreign Affairs is aware of the incident and is providing consular assistance.

Chiang Rai is located in the northern territory of Thailand and is popular tourist region.
