It has been announced that Irish musician Talos, has sadly died aged 37.
The Cork man, whose real name is Eoin French, had released electronic music under the name Talos since 2013.
A post on the musician’s Instagram page reads: “It is with great sadness that we let you know that our friend Eoin French, known to many the world over as Talos, has passed away after a short illness.
“Eoin passed peacefully in his sleep early on the morning of Sunday August 11, 2024 in his native Cork, surrounded by his loved ones.
“A beautiful soul, a true artist, a son, a husband, a father, and a friend. We are devastated by his passing.
“As was his wish, there will be new music from Talos to share with you all in the future.”
Originally trained as an architect, French lectured in architecture at University College Cork and studied at the Cork School of Music.
He was also once a member of the band Hush War Cry.
Talos’ debut album ‘Wild Alee’ was nominated for the Choice Music Prize and received rave reviews upon release.
He also released two more albums – Far Out Dust in 2019 and ‘Dear Chaos’ in 2022.
In 2022, French also provided the music for Irish actor Emmet Kirwan’s stage show Accents, where it was nominated for Best Soundscape in the Irish Times Theatre Awards.
