A newsagents in Co. Mayo has sold its sixth winning Lotto ticket.

Carey’s newsagents, which is a family run business in Belmullet, Co. Mayo, is celebrating today after finding out that it sold another winning Lotto ticket, bringing its total to six.

On last night’s draw, someone in Belmullet became €370k richer after getting five numbers and the bonus ball in the National Lottery draw.

The Carey’s in Belmullet are no strangers to National Lottery wins. In 2016, the family celebrated selling the winning ticket for a whopping €13.8 million Lotto jackpot, the eighth highest Lotto jackpot win in the National Lottery’s 30-year history.

Its other wins over the years were:

1991 Lotto Jackpot of €710,422

2012 Lotto + 1 top prize of €350,000

2015 EuroMillions + top prize of €500,000

March 2017 Daily Millions €1 million

A National Lottery spokesperson today urged players in Belmullet to check to see if they are the holders of last night’s winning ticket.

The Lotto winning numbers were 1, 19, 22, 26, 44, 45 and Bonus 35.

Lorraine Carey, who owns the lucky newsagent, said today there is huge excitement in the small coastal Gaeltacht town:

“I took over the shop from my dad Hughie in 2013 and this is the 4th big win I have had since then. It is unbelievable. We are delighted also to have had this win in a year when the National Lottery is celebrating its 30th anniversary and giving back €5 Billion to Good causes.“

We know where we’re buying our tickets from now on.
