Irish woman dies while on charity trip in Africa

The woman is believed to have died in East Africa on Friday.

An Irish woman has died while on a charity trip to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.

The 35-year-old is believed to be from the Cork/Waterford area.

Full details are yet to be released, but the organisers of the adventure holiday confirmed her death on their Facebook page.

The woman was due to travel to Tazmania for the charity fund-raising climb.

She died of currently unknown causes while being attended to by a doctor.

Her family have been informed of her death, and the Department Of Foreign Affairs will now offer consular assistance.
