You know that line in the song ‘Unchained Melody’ that goes: “And time goes by so slowly…”? Well those in Kerry can sing it and actually mean it now!
According to a report in an Irish newspaper this morning, electric clocks have been behaving rather oddly in the South of the county.
Resident Patrick Curtin told The Irish Sun: “Three weeks ago I noticed the electric clock was not in time with the 6am news. The cooker clock was gone off as well. I said it to a few people and they said their clocks had gone cuckoo as well.”
In fact it was found that over the period of the week, Mr Curtin lost almost half an hour. That’s an episode of Coronation Street you know. Or even worse, a ruined Sunday dinner!
From alarm clocks to cooker clocks, electric clocks went a bit crazy in Kerry.
After further investigation it was found that it wasn’t an alien invasion or a really boring afternoon that was making time go so slowly but power surges from works on ESB networks.
Not as exciting but much more reassuring!
