Fans of the royal couple have had a long wait for the arrival of Kate and William’s second child but it has now been confirmed that the Duchess of Cambridge is in labour.
Kensington Palace announced the news this morning on its official Twitter account, telling its 249,000 followers that she travelled to St Mary’s Hospital at 6am this morning.
HRH The Duchess of Cambridge was admitted at 06.00hrs to St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London and is in the early stages of labour.

It’s believed that Kate had been due to give birth in ‘mid to late April’ and fans have been gathering outside the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s since earlier this week.
