The teenager became ill at her debs.

Jessica Moore from Bullaun in Loughrea, passed away after attending the St Raphael’s College debs at Gullane’s Hotel in Ballinasloe.

She first reported feeling unwell at around 2 am on Tuesday, reported the Irish Examiner.

An ambulance was called and she was taken to Portiuncula Hospital in the town but was later pronounced dead.

However, now her family has had to make a plea to the public to be wary of a fake fundraising page.

According to The Sun, her brother Cian wrote on Facebook:

“Unfortunately, it has come to our attention that some horrible people out there have set up a fake fund-raising page in Jessica’s name.

“They are using a Facebook account that has copied my fathers. Please please spread the word that this is absolutely not us.

“DO NOT DONATE TO THIS FRAUD. We hope that this message reaches as many people as possible before another penny is taken from honest and caring friends of Jessica.”

Jessica’s dad Brendan added: “Please note that there is absolutely no campaign by us for funding. We believe that someone has set up a fake copy of my profile. Please do not contribute but spread the word.”

A memorial has been placed at her school in Loughrea.

A death notice on RIP.ie describes her as a “cherished and much-loved sister” to her two siblings and notes the “inexpressible grief” of her parents.

She will, the notice reads, be “forever remembered by her uncles, aunts, uncles-in-law, aunts-in-law, cousins, extended family, neighbours and her many, many friends.”

Ms Moore will be laid to rest in her home parish today following a requiem mass.
