Yet more dogs have been seized at Dublin Port; the animals had no paperwork and were found last night by gardai and port security.

“The majority of puppies, Labrador/Collie crosses, are just 10 weeks old,” the DSPCA said, adding that the animals “will be available for adoption within the next week”.

“This is the fourth such seizure this year and brings the total number of puppies seized to over 500 in the last 18 months,” the charity went on to say.

“We would like to express our sincere thanks to all involved including Garda at Store Street Garda Station, Dublin Port Customs and Garda immigration unit at Dublin Port.”

The DSPCA said it along with authorities at Dublin Port “continue to be vigilant around the illegal export of puppies and dogs”.
