Katy Perry has issued a response after Ruby Rose accused the pop star of sexually assaulting her.
Rose, an actor best known for the show 'Orange is the New Black', made the allegation in a series of posts on Threads on Sunday, 12 April.
Rose, 40, claimed that the pop star assaulted her at an Australian nightclub when she was in her 20s.
The allegation was first brought up by Rose on a Complex Music Threads post, mentioning the singer.
She said: "Katy Perry sexual [sic] assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a [damn] what she thinks."
She thanked her fans for her support as she alleged: "I was only in my early 20s. I'm now 40. It has taken almost 2 decades to say this publicly.
"Though I am so grateful to have made it long enough to find my voice, it just shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault takes. Thank you for seeing me."
She also replied to another fan: "Before I open up about something incredibly raw and traumatic, I tell myself 'it's ok, you don't need people to believe you, you just need to get it out of your poor body, before it gives you cancer.
"But then I see this post and … tears consume me, in a good way. Thank you."
Now a spokesperson for Katy Perry has hit back at the allegations.
In a statement given to Variety, the spokesperson said: “The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous reckless lies.
"Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.”
Responding to people asking for more details on Threads, Rose wrote about the alleged incident: “She didn’t kiss me. She saw me ‘resting’ on my best friends lap to avoid her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomited on her.”
“After it I threw up on her, I told the story publicly but changed it to be a ‘funny little drunk story’ because I didn’t know how else to handle it."
Rose responded to another fan claiming: “Later she agreed to help me get my US visa. So I kept it a secret. But I DID tell yall she wasn’t a good person.”
