The latest weather forecast for this month is the gift we all need right now

Summer is not over just yet.

Remember the heatwave? Wasn’t that just great craic? Week after week of wearing shorts and sandals to work, drinking cans on the canal and leaving every window and door in the gaff wide open.

Ah, the good old days. Now we’re left with humidity and spitty rain – the worst.

However, there is a light at the end of this incredibly sweaty tunnel as another heatwave is expected at the end of this month.

While the next week or so is expected to be ever-changing, the high pressure is due to return later in the month meaning many more hot days ahead.

According to Carlow Weather’s Alan O’Reilly, we should start looking forward to one last burst of warmth.

“A lot of changes in the weather shown on the models for the next 10 days, from warm humid weather early this week to much cooler fresher later in the week and then models hinting at a return to settled warmer weather for the end of the month with maybe some ‘back to school weather’.

“The longer-term charts have been showing some high-pressure building for the end of the month with some good sunny weather possible, still very far out and could change a lot but something to keep an eye on.”

Something to look forward to.
