The latest weather forecast is sure to put a HUGE smile on your face

Tony Cuddihy

It's going to be a great day of sunshine in Ireland

This is going to be a difficult week for the country, but at least the weather will be great.

We’re never quite sure what the definition of a heatwave is – somebody about two consecutive hours without the pissings of rain coming down – but it seems we’re in for a spell of some seriously sunny weather.

As Ireland prepares to vote on whether or not to repeal the 8th Amendment this Friday, it’s going to be a difficult week no matter what side you come down on but at least the weather won’t be making us doubly anxious.

If you’re in Dublin, in particular, starting planning the barbecues.

Forget Monday – from Tuesday onwards it’s going to be glorious.

Weather

Met Éireann state: “Mainly dry and settled for the rest of the week and probably also for the early days of next week, with sunny intervals. However, there is a risk of some heavy, thundery showers developing, especially in the west and south. Relatively warm, with above normal temperatures.”

We’re looking at temperatures in the low 20s throughout the week, which is pleasant without having anyone showering themselves in Factor 250.

It’s not all good news for Monday, though – a Yellow Rainfall Warning is in place for counties Longford, Cavan, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Roscommon, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick.

Better days are coming though.
