The State Examinations Commission (SEC) has said it is investigating a potential security breach during one of today's Leaving Certificate exams.
Today's higher level Irish Paper 2 appeared online shortly after the exam started this morning, according to RTÉ News.
While the SEC said that this would not compromise the exam for the students who were sitting it, SEC rules specify that it is forbidden for state exam papers to leave an exam centre until near to the end of an exam.
Screenshots of the exam paper in question were posted in a private Facebook group used by Irish teachers at around 10am this morning, not long after the exam started at 9.30am.
The group has around 3,000 members.
It it is not known how the exam paper made its way out of the exam centre.
