“Most definitely a scam.”

Lidl have warned customers not to open any text message that appear to be from them because it is in fact, a scam.

The store tweeted today saying that they will never communicate with their Irish customers via text.

They added that any competitions or offers will be found only on their verified social media channels, app, and website.

“IMPORTANT NOTICE,” they wrote. “Please do not open any texts that appear to have been sent by Lidl.”

“As a company we don’t communicate any offers or information to customers via text so anything received via text message is most definitely a scam.

“The only offers and competitions we run can be found on our verified social media channels, our app and website.”

They said that if any customer has any concerns regarding suspicious texts which claim to be sent from Lidl, they should call the company’s customer service team on 1800 201080.
