According to The Irish Times, Ikea and the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council held a meeting in October where the chain store announced its future trading plans for Ireland. While the company already has a store in Ballymun and a 'click and collect' point in Carrickmines, it is "exploring the option of a site in south Dublin". Council reps said "[the store is] welcome to enter preplanning" once it has the correct proposals in place.I know we're a small country, but to have two shops in the one county/city is just stupid.

Ikea representatives also said that they are "always looking for opportunities, and are investigating the potential for [another] store in the market, specifically in Cork." Hurrah!
"However, we have no confirmed plans for the development of an Ikea store at the moment," it said.
“Ikea is committed to growing and investing in Ireland."
