Love Island: Priya says Brett is more “reserved” than her as pair leave villa

Jade Hayden

So, coffee and a run date anyone?

Priya and Brett have officially left the Love Island villa – and rather, unsurprisingly, they don’t quite feel the same about each other.

Upon exiting the villa, Priya said that she initially went for Brett because of how similar they are.

“I think it was because Brett and I could talk for hours and hours,” she said. “We are so similar. We both have a lot of the same interests and hobbies – running, science, health.

“A lot of the time when Brett and I were chatting, no-one else would understand our conversation. I really loved that. I feel like the chats and the ability to talk for hours was why I chose him.”

However, as time went on Priya, the gal who doesn’t kiss until a third date, felt Brett was a lot more “reserved” than she was.

“All the other couples were getting on really well and were really solid and that put a lot of pressure on Brett and I,” said Priya. “I felt maybe the conversation wasn’t as fun and flirty as I would have hoped. I felt like he was more reserved than I am.

“I’m looking for someone who wants to get out of their comfort zone all the time, like jumping out of planes with me. I think Brett was a little bit in his shell during our time in the villa so I didn’t get a true reflection of his personality. ”

Compare that to what Brett said about Priya and, aw god… The man truly is in deep.

“Meeting Priya was honestly a blessing,” he said. “Regardless of what happens, I know I’ve got a really good friend there at the very least, who I will go to in the future, and that’s a long-lasting relationship for sure.”

He also added that despite their split in the villa, he is still hopeful for a date.

He said: “It’s totally fine, now both of us taking a little bit of a step back will actually help our relationship, whether we do just remain friends in the future or we try and date or whatever. I think it will be beneficial for us.”

Brett and Priya entered into a friendship couple during last night’s cheese-heavy episode in which Priya spent a full 1.5 days trying to figure out if she thought Brett was boring or not.

Once the model announced that he did, in fact, not like cheese, Priya decided to cut their relationship there, successfully friend zone him, and take a selfie – for some reason.

Worse breakups have happened in the world, I guess…?

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on Virgin Media One.
