The lovable pooch has been honoured.

Meet Taxi, the loyal service dog who has been honoured in his human’s yearbook.

For four years, Taxi, a half-lab and half golden retriever, has been helping seventh-grader Rachel Benke’s in the Northside Independent School District.

“We joke, saying he’s a guide dog drop out. He did not make the guide dog program because he has a cat destruction problem,” mom Theresa Benke told KHOU in Texas.

Rachel has been having epileptic seizures since birth and her mom admitted that she wasn’t sure if the pooch would be a match for her daughter.

“We were very overwhelmed because of that time Rachel was afraid of animals,” she said.

“Next thing you know Rachel just hugged him and it was the cutest thing you’ve ever seen and I literally started crying and said there’s my sign. They’ve been a team ever since”.

Taxi goes everywhere with Benke, including award ceremonies and birthdays and even stuck by her side when the seventh-grader had a grand mal seizure.

This year, the lovable pooch has been celebrated in the school with a photo alongside his human. Congratulations Taxi!
