The National Lottery has claimed yet another big win with a player from Co. Louth hitting the jackpot on last night’s Lotto draw scooping a massive €2,497,727.

The National Lottery is today appealing to all its players in Louth to check their tickets to see if they have landed the second Lotto jackpot in the last seven days. Last Saturday's Lotto Jackpot of a mega €10.2 million was won on a ticket sold in the Spar Shop on Upper O'Connell Street, Dublin.

Last night's win rounds off an extraordinary weekend which saw an online player win a cool €1 million on Saturday’s afternoon Daily Millions Draw, and another player from Co. Louth winning €500,000 on Friday’s EuroMillions Plus draw.

The Lotto win comes just days after The Naul Family Syndicate from North Dublin claimed a cheque for an extraordinary €175.4 million on the EuroMillions jackpot, the highest National Lottery win in its history.

The lucky shop that sold last nights golden ticket is Maddens Centra in Termonfeckin, near Drogheda in Co. Louth. The winning numbers are: 1, 3, 7, 27, 31, 44 and bonus number 19.

Another Centra store, located in Dromiskin, Co. Louth, sold Friday night’s €500,000 EuroMillions Plus top prize ticket.

Owner of Centra in Termonfeckin, Ray Madden, said today: “This is absolutely fantastic news, people in Termonfeckin are buzzing with news of the Lotto jackpot win today. This is a very busy shop we have a staff of 38 and most of our customers are local. I am friendly with James Hallinan whose Centra shop in Dromiskin sold the EuroMillions Plus winning ticket on Friday night so Centra also has lots of celebrate!”

National Lottery CEO, Dermot Griffin, said: “What an incredible two weeks we have had in the National Lottery! We have created several millioniares with the big EuroMillions jackpot win, two Lotto jackpot wins, a EuroMillions Plus win and a Daily Millions win.”

“Since we launched the enhanced Lotto and Lotto Plus game last September approximately 4.7 million prizes totalling more than €71 million have been won. And the new game has created 12 new millionaires.”

He said almost 30 cent in every Euro spent on National Lottery games goes back to the community in Good Causes in the areas of sport, health, arts, heritage, culture, youth, community and the Irish language. Last year alone more than €227 million was raised, the equivalent of more than €620,000 a day.
