
M50 Northbound closed for a 'number of hours' after fatal accident
Gardaí are currently on the scene.
The Gardaí have made a statement about the M50 closure this afternoon.
Taking to Twitter, it has been confirmed that there has been a fatal accident and Forensic Collision Investigators are currently at the scene.
They also confirmed that the road will be closed at the M50 Finglas exit for a "number of hours," however those passing the junction are asked to "remain focused" on driving.
The statement read:
"Serious RTC on Slip Road at junction 5 M50 Finglas (North Bound) will remain closed for a number of hours as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are at scene. RTC involves truck and a car.
"Update: This RTC has now been confirmed a Fatal RTC and Gardaí are at scene. Slip Road will remain closed for a number of hours. Passing motorists on the M50 Northbound at junction 5 are requested to remain focused on their driving and not cause unnecessary delays."
