Man in his 20s dies after Donegal collision

RIP.

A motorcyclist in Donegal has passed away after he was involved in a road crash on Monday evening.

Shortly after 5pm Gardaí and emergency services were called to a collision on the R231 at Killinangle More, Rossnowlagh where an incident had occurred between a car and a motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, who is believed to be in his late 20s, was treated at the scene for his injuries but was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Those in the car have been left uninjured from the collision.

The body of the motorcyclist has been removed to Sligo University Hospital where a postmortem examination will be carried out and a report has been sent to the coroner.

The site of the crash remained closed overnight as local traffic diversions were put in place and a technical examination of the scene is set to take place on Tuesday morning.

Gardaí are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward and asking any road users with video and dash cam footage to make themselves known.
