A man in his twenties has died in hospital after sleeping rough in Drogheda, County Louth.
He had been found unresponsive by a passer-by on Mill Lane off Trinity Street in the town at around 9.45 on Wednesday evening.
He was taken by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital where he was pronounced dead, reports Newstalk.
Gardaí were called to the hospital on Wednesday night and have said they’re not treating the death as suspicious.
The man was the second to die on Irish streets in just 24 hours.
A homeless man in his thirties died in Dublin in the early hours of yesterday morning.

His body was found by Dublin Inner City Helping Homeless (ICHH) workers on Adair Lane in Temple Bar at around 2am. It’s believed it may have been there for several hours before being discovered.
The number of people sleeping outdoors in Dublin is on the rise, according to Anthony Flynn of ICHH.
There’s been an “extremely high level of rough sleepers in Dublin alone over the past few weeks, with 160 (on Wednesday) night and 133 the night before,” he told the Irish Times.
He said a lack of organisation was to blame.
“There is no system in place to take them off the streets. The staff and the facilities are there, but there is no co-ordination.”
