Taylor McIlvenna appeared via video link at Belfast's Magistrate's Court this morning.
A man has been charged with the murder of Caoimhe Morgan.
The 30-year-old's body was found in a house in Harcourt Drive in the north of Belfast on Saturday.
As reported by RTÉ, Taylor McIlvenna has been charged with the murder of the mother-of-four.
Mr McIlvenna appeared at Belfast Magistrates Court via video link where he was charged with murder and two counts of criminal damage.
He spoke only once to tell the court that he understood the charges.
A PSNI detective said that she was able to connect McIlvenna to the criminal offences. However, no further detail was given at this time.
McIlvenna will appear before the court - again via video link - on 19 January.
There has been no application for bail, and he will remain in custody until that date.
