Man charged over serious assault of pregnant woman in Dublin

A man has been charged following a serious assault on a pregnant woman in Dublin.
The woman, in her 30s, was attacked by a man believed to be known to her on Dame Street, Dublin 2 between 4 and 5am on Sunday, April 25.
She was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where her unborn baby later died. The woman was believed to have been in her third trimester.
The man, in his 30s, was arrested by Gardaí on Tuesday, May 19. He has since been charged and attended the Criminal Courts of Justice earlier this morning.
Gardaí launched a manhunt to locate the suspect earlier this month. According to reports, the man was also wanted by vigilantes known to him.
