A man in his 60s has died in a house fire in Galway overnight.
The tragic incident occurred in Liss near Headford shortly after 1.30pm and two men were in the property at the time of the fire. Emergency services rushed to the scene but while one man escaped, the other occupant was pronounced dead and removed to University Hospital Galway.
A post mortem is expected to be carried out later today and the scene has been preserved for a examination by Garda technical experts.
However, the fire is not being treated as suspicious.
