A man has been rushed to hospital after he got into difficulties in the water by Buncrana Pier.
According to The Independent, the man was rescued from the same area where members of the McGrotty family lost their lives in March.
The incident occurred at about 10pm last night. A passerby spotted the man and threw him a buoy and helped pulled him to safety. An ambulance was called and the man was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital, where he is said to be in stable condition.
