"Met Eireann currently has no national warnings in operation. Naming storms is a decision made jointly by Met Éireann on the basis of objective criteria. We continue to monitor upcoming weather events and will issue warnings if required".Speaking to The Irish Sun, forecaster Harm Luijkx said that that it is too early to describe the predicted weather conditions as a storm.
"We have not named any storm. There is a depression coming towards us but it is too early to call it a storm. "It could move south. We will be keeping a close eye on it and we will issue a warning if there is a need to".Although in saying that, the national forecaster has emphasised that the latest update is subject to change and they will monitor the situation closely.
