Met Éireann issue a countrywide weather warning and honestly, we’re not able

'Drought conditions'.

Yes indeed, the heatwave isn't going anywhere anytime soon according to the latest countrywide weather warning from Met Éireann. The heatwave is due to continue into next week, right up until next Friday FYI, and the national forecaster has predicted "drought or near-drought conditions". The advisory warning was issued at 11 am this morning and will remain in place until midnight on Friday 6 July.

According to Met Éireann, "the coming week will continue warm or very warm" and apart from isolated showers in the south, there won't be any break in the drought-like conditions. As for temperatures tomorrow, they will vary throughout the country but overall it looks like high twenties in most parts for the week.

 "Very warm again for Leinster and Munster with highs of 25 to 28 degrees but cloud will increase through Ulster and Connacht in a fresher northerly breeze and temperaures will be lower here, 18 to 24 degrees".

The lack of rainfall has led Irish Water to put a hosepipe ban in place in the Dublin area and their Drought Management team is also working hard to put provisions in place as the heatwave continues.
