The second weather warning issued today.

A status yellow rainfall warning is now in place for the following five counties: Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork and Kerry

It begins tomorrow at 3 pm and is in place until 12 pm on Saturday with rainfall of 30 to 50mm expected.

This follows a status orange fog warning issued today for the entire country which is valid until 2am tomorrow morning.

As regards the weather for the next couple of days, here’s what you can expect.

Met Éireann says tomorrow is likely to be windy with plenty of drizzle and mist “scattered about”.

“Friday night will be windy and very wet over the western half of the country, with heavy possibly thundery rain in many areas and some flooding. Winds will be strong to gale force and gusty southeasterly.

“Further rain in all areas during Saturday, with some heavy falls in more eastern areas”.

Things should improve somewhat on Sunday but at the moment, the outlook for next week is “cold, wintry and showery”.
