Met Eireann have issued a status yellow rainfall weather warning for two counties. Cork and Waterford have been urged to be on alert as 33mm on rain is expected to hit the counties between early tomorrow morning and Saturday. The alert will be in place from 2am Friday (November 23) to 2am Saturday (November 24). Frequent showers will be hitting both Cork and Waterford during this time, and are expected to merge into longer spells of rain on and off throughout the day and night. This will lead to accumulations of 25 to 35mm in some parts of the country, particularly near the south coast. This comes after news that the week was going to be pretty bleak in terms of wetness. Met Eireann confirmed yesterday that there will be rain, thunder and flooding across the country as our autumnal damp spell only got worse. As for the weekend temperature wise, it's looking chilly enough with lowest temperatures around 0 degrees in the north and between 3 and 6 degrees elsewhere on Friday. Saturday's a slight bit warmer with highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees, but similar lows of 0 to 3 moving into Sunday, which will be even colder in the nighttime as frost appears bringing with it lowest temperatures between -1 and +2 degrees. Best get the heating on.
