August, is it?

A thunderstorm and rain weather warning has been issued for 15 counties.

Met Éireann issued the status yellow weather warning today for tomorrow, where there is expected to be scattered heavy showers with localised thundery downpours and a risk of spot flooding.

15 counties have been included in this new weather warning. They are Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wexford, Wicklow, Cavan, Donegal, and Monaghan.

This weather warning is valid from Saturday, 12pm to 8pm.

A separate weather warning has also been issued by the UK Met Office for Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone, and Derry.

Met Éireann already warned this week that the weather for this weekend is expected to be especially dull.

They said it will be “a mostly dull and misty start to Saturday with rain in the northeast and scattered showers elsewhere.

“Sunny spells will develop through the afternoon and evening but there’ll also be scattered heavy showers and thunderstorms, particularly in Ulster and Leinster where localised heavy downpours may lead to spot flooding.

“Highest temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees, with light southerly or westerly winds.”

Another rainfall weather warning was also issued yesterday for Galway, Mayo, and Kerry. That weather warning is valid until 4pm today.
