Yesterday it was the wind and today Met Éireann is saying there’s a chance of snow and ice.
The forecaster has issued a status yellow snow-ice warning for the country as a cold air mass from Canada could bring snow showers over the coming days.
The west and north are the most likely to be affected with several centimetres expected. Elsewhere, slight accumulations and icy patches are predicted.
This latest weather warning is in effect until 12.00pm on Wednesday (March 4th).
Tonight is expected to turn cold with hail, sleet and snow showers in western and northern counties. Frost and ice is also a possibility as temperatures drop below zero.
Tomorrow will be cold and bright with a mixture of sunny spells and wintry showers. Highest temperatures will be around 3 to 6 degrees Celsius during the day and will drop overnight.
As the week progresses, temperatures are expected to rise bringing more settled conditions.
