It doesn’t look like the weather is going to get better any time soon.

Met Éireann has a weather warning set for the entire country as Storm Diana has hit Ireland.

The Status Orange wind warning has been updated for Wexford, Galway, Clare and Waterford with Met Éireann saying: “Update: Severe winds associated with Storm Diana on Wednesday: South to southwest winds of 65 to 80 km/h will gust 110 to 130 km/h. High Seas also, with a risk of coastal flooding.”

Meanwhile, another Orange wind warning has been set for Cork and Kerry: “Update: Severe winds associated with Storm Diana on Wednesday: Continued risk of south to southwest winds of 65 to 80 km/h gusting to 110 to 130 km/h. High Seas also, with a risk of coastal flooding.”

And a Status yellow has now been set for the rest of the country: “Gale force winds associated with Storm Diana on Wednesday: South to southwest winds of 55 to 65 km/h will gust 90 to 110 km/h.”

There is also an Orange marine gale warning in place.

The weather forecaster said: “Very windy today with some severe gusts associated with Storm Diana in coastal counties of the west and south as southerly winds veer southwesterly in direction. Rain will be heaviest and most persistent in parts of the west and north today, with the rain more scattered elsewhere with occasional bright intervals. Mild at first this afternoon with highs of 12 to 16 degrees, but temperatures falling back to between 9 and 12 degrees later.”

Be careful out there.
