Met Eireann issues Status Orange rain warning following flooding

It’s a rainy week.

Met Eireann has issued a Status Orange rain warning for Cork, Kerry, Waterford, Wexford, and Wicklow in the wake of the heavy rainfall forecasted.

The warning comes into effect from tonight until tomorrow night, with the forecaster saying: “Heavy rain on Tuesday night, Wednesday and Wednesday night with the possibility of thundery downpours, will lead to localised flooding. Disruption is likely.”

The warning will take effect from 10 pm tonight until midnight on Thursday.

A Status Yellow warning is currently in place for Carlow, Kilkenny and Tipperary from 10pm tonight until 10pm tomorrow night.

A separate Status Yellow rain warning has also been put out for Cavan, Monaghan, Dublin, Kildare, Louth and Meath which comes into effect at 4am tomorrow until will stay in place until midnight.

A Small Craft warning has also been issued for all coasts in Ireland and has been in place since 6am this morning as southeast to east winds are forecast to reach force six or higher at times, with a marine warning remaining in place until 6pm on Thursday.
